Discovering Colors – A Color Project in the Under-3s Area

The children in the under-3s area experience and learn about colors as part of the color project with creative activities, songs, movement and discovery in the daily routine. With the combination of language support in the morning circle and active engagement in participation in creative activities, the children were able to experience colors with all their senses.

Discovering the world with your hands

Children learn about the world by discovering everything with their hands. They grasp, touch, feel, and experiment – and so, they are getting important experiences that supports their development. They need a wide range of activities that allow them to use their fine motor skills. Painting and cutting offer wonderful opportunities in the daily routine.

Going to school! – First insights into school life

The children of the “Mice” group visited the dreieins Elementary School several times as part of a cooperation project and took part in lessons with class 1a. They learned letters, first math tasks, and got to know school life. The trial lessons were very enjoyable for the children and supported their excitement for starting school in the summer.

Multi-step learning activity

With a multi-step learning activity, the children explored the topic of “plants and growth.” So they had practical experience and developed a basic understanding of growth processes. Multi-step tasks and procedural sequences are activities composed of several subtasks and require a structured approach. These are important and fundamental basis for starting school.

Creative Get-together at the Easter Bazaar

A creative get-together at our Easter bazaar: a hot dog stand and a cake buffet provided plenty of refreshments, while families could get involved at the creative stations to make egg cups, bunny spoons, and balloon figures. The activities invited all to be creative and spend quality time together.

Easter Riddle – An exciting Easter basket hunt

The children of the “Mice Group” received a mysterious letter from the Easter Bunny, who had watched them making their Easter baskets. He was so impressed that he came up with something very special. During the night, he secretly filled and hid the baskets. To find them, the children had to solve a riddle.

Springtime and Easter celebrations in our kindergarten

In the preschool group “Mice”, Easter is celebrated together with the children in a holistic project. Over a longer period, they engage with this theme creatively, linguistically, and practically. All activities offer diverse opportunities to actively participate, bringing in their own ideas, and experiencing Easter with all their senses.

Walking safely: Getting ready for the way to school

The children in the Mice Group are getting ready to start school. To prepare, we talked together about their future routes to school and practiced important traffic rules for excursions and road safety. Then, during a walk to elementary schools in our area, we explored the routes and practiced staying safe in real-life traffic situations.

Building and balancing – Movement and coordination

Movement, balance and coordination: step by step, the children from the under-3s area coped a creative balancing course consisting of cushions, stacking stones and stools. While navigating the course, the children had to climb, balance, step, and jump. And the cooperation between the children was particularly delightful to see.

Project: Body and Senses – How does breathing work?

Our “Body and Senses” project leads preschool children to the human body. They learn about the structure and function of the human lungs, an organ that enables breathing. An experiment makes this abstract biological process visible and physically tangible for the children.
